Mid-Term Review Meeting in Malaysia
The Mid-Term Review of the project entitled "An Artificial Intelligence framework for threat assessment and containment for COVID-19 and future epidemics while mitigating the socio-economic impact on women, children, and underprivileged groups" was held in Kaula Lampur, Malaysia from the 19th to the 23rd of December 2022, with the participation of Sri Lankan and Malaysian research teams and the Senior Program Officer Anindya Chaudhuri on behalf of the International Development Research Center (IDRC), Canada.
In the first two days, the social science and AI teams from both countries presented the work carried out and the progress. Furthermore, this provided a valuable opportunity for the teams to discuss the collaborative efforts that could be done in the future. (The presentations can be found in the link provided at the bottom of the article.) On the 21st of December, a knowledge-sharing event was arranged where resource personnel from different parts of the world shared their knowledge in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analytics. A discussion on the outputs of the project and the approaches that needed to be taken in order to bridge them into policy implications was carried out on the final day of the review.
